About expanded PTFE Gasket Sheet

FLONSEAL™ ePTFE Sheet is a form of PTFE which is expanded and stretched in many different directions during the manufacturing process. This ‘multi-directional’, higher strength material demonstrates a reduced tendency to creep under load at elevated temperatures when compared with other PTFE gasket materials.

Polyflon’s ePTFE Sheet shows good mechanical recovery over long term compression and temperature fluctuation resulting in very low leakage rates and, due to the very soft texture of the material, conforms perfectly to pitted, uneven flange faces.

ePTFE Sheet Features:

  • • 100% virgin PTFE; no fillers or pigments
  • • Excellent chemical resistance, same as solid sintered PTFE
  • • UV resistant
  • • Non-aging, unlimited shelf-life
  • • Biologically inert, non-toxic
  • • UL94 V-O flammability rating, LOI 95%
  • • Density 0.80g/cm3
  • • Tensile strength(20°C) 25N/mm2
  • • Serviceable from -200°C to 230°C (-328°F to 446°F)
  • • Ideal for sealing against fragile materials: glass, ceramic
  • • Conforms perfectly to the contours of very uneven sealing faces
  • • Easily cut by hand or machine punched.

ePTFE Sheet Availability:

  • • One standard sheet size: 1500 +25/-10mm x 1500 +25/-10mm
  • • Standard thicknesses: 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 8.0, 9.0mm +/-10%
  • • Offered as finish punched parts to customer drawing
