FEP heat shrink tubing, due to its thermoplastic nature, reacts much easier to heat than PTFE and can shrink at temperatures as low as 130˚C (266˚F) dependent on wall thickness and shrinking method and can follow the contours of components very closely. FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) enjoys a high degree of inertness; is an excellent dielectric like PTFE but has the benefit of being almost completely transparent.
FEP Heat Shrink Tubing Applications:
Due to its low shrink temperature, FEP heat shrink tubing can be used to encapsulate a range of sensitive electrical components & instrumentation and being a clear material, is effective in sleeving UV lamps and items where light transmission is required. Very smooth, non-stick surfaces make FEP the ideal candidate for roll covers and other process components which come into contact with viscous substances.
