Cuffing
In many cases, to successfully connect PTFE convoluted tubing to most fittings a cuff is required on the plain end of the tube. Using specially developed thermoforming techniques Polyflon can produce a smooth cuff ID & length to the customer’s own specification. Alternatively, supply a sample of the fitting & our experienced technicians will manipulate the tube to suit.
Flanging
In certain hygienic environments SS couplings are the standard connection method for various inert tubes/pipes. Polyflon have the expertise to thermoform flanges exhibiting no deformation of tube ID or warping of the flange. Small runs to large volumes are welcomed.
Flaring
From semi-conductor wafer processing through to large scale chlorine production, flaring of the process tubing is standard procedure. Polyflon can thermoform flared tube ends using manual or pneumatically operated equipment. Retractable coils
A tubing product allowing completely unhindered movement & unrivalled flexibility! If you’re dispensing high-purity or aggressive fluids; spraying components with DI water or bagging ultra clean parts in nitrogen, Polyflon’s retractable coils are an essential part of your fluid/gas handling system. A wide range of coil bores & extended lengths are available to satisfy most applications. Complete retractable coil assemblies include compression fittings & specialist spray-guns: our sales team are on hand to furnish you with all the details.
Pre-formed shapes
You’re in a tight spot: no room for elbow or union fittings & that tube will definitely kink! Consider Polyflon’s pre-formed PTFE, FEP & PFA tubing. Both 2D flat shapes & more complex 3D configurations are possible using our own tooling, produced in-house. This solution is most suited to applications requiring standardised, volume parts as well as small quantities. Male/female connectors can be attached to create time-saving assemblies.
Thin film diaphragms
Polyflon thermoform thin films to produce pump diaphragms impressed with convolutions determined by the customers own specification. All our press tooling is machined in-house allowing speedy component development. Polyflon’s own clicker presses then punch the freshly formed parts to complete the finished item.
Custom UV lamp encapsulation
UV lamps are used extensively in the food industry & as a safety measure against breakage of the lamp & the subsequent scattering of glass chards into food, custom heat shrink ‘boots’ are produced to encapsulate the lamp and contain any burst of the fluorescent tube. Such lamps come in a wide range of lengths & diameters &, therefore, many sizes & shrink ratios of heat shrink tubing are bespoke.
