Rigid tube connectors (2N & 2D)

Series 2N compression fitting
The Series 2N compression fitting can be used with all kinds of rigid plastic tubing; all types of metal piping & laboratory glass tubing – a truly universal connector. As shown in the section image to the left, the tube is located inside the orifice of the fitting body up to a step whose thickness is equal to that of the tube wall. The nut is finger tightened as the split PEEK ring contracts & grips the tube OD. A PTFE sealing ring completes the seal. PFA fittings of this type are used to connect to inert tubes with unusually heavy walls or in applications where vibration may be a concern, the connection being incredibly tight & robust. PVDF fittings of this style would be used in similar applications but in instances where the media is not as aggressive or high temperature.

Series 2D compression fitting
The Series 2D compression fitting allows flexible & rigid tubing to pass all the way through the fitting body, this being the only technical difference when compared with the Series 2N version. PFA fittings of this style are ideal for fixing/sealing thermometers & sensors through the walls of acid baths or reaction vessels. Emersion tubes can be secured through panels with PVDF fittings of the Series 2D design also.
