Expanded PTFE Gasket Sheet

FLONSEAL expanded PTFE gasket sheet

FLONSEAL ePTFE gasket sheet consists of virgin, expanded PTFE. The manufacturing process produces a multidirectional fibrous texture which gives the material its special properties. FLONSEAL ePTFE shows very low compression rates & exhibits very little increase in width even under extreme sealing conditions. Because of its multidirectional fibrous texture FLONSEAL ePTFE gasket sheet shows very good material characteristics at high surface pressures and increasing temperatures. Even under extreme operating conditions there are very low changes in width and in height compared to other PTFE materials. By using gaskets made of FLONSEAL ePTFE sheet, high surface pressures will be maintained even at high temperatures.

FLONSEAL ePTFE gasket sheets are specifically designed to the highest safety standards and are well suited to applications such as critical joints in oxygen pipelines.

Installation

  • Cut or punch FLONSEAL ePTFE gasket sheets.
  • Sealing surfaces must be clean.
  • For partial underfilling of uneven surfaces FLONSEAL ePTFE-HD can be used.
  • Always tighten bolts evenly in stages up to the required surface pressure.
  • Retighten bolts after reaching operating conditions (recommended surface pressure: BU=20 N/mm2).
