Series 6P Pneumatic Part-turn Actuator

The pneumatic part-turn actuator is a maintenance-free rotary piston actuator. The actuator made of plastic provides protection against corrosion. The actuator can be operated with all neutral, gaseous media. Rotary movements p to 90° are possible. The rotary movement is transmitted to the shaft using a rotary piston and high pitch thread. As standard the actuator is available with spring-return. This provides a very high level of safety for the majority of applications, as on the failure of the control air, e.g. due to a power failure, the valve closes automatically. However the actuator is also available as a double acting version for specific applications on request.

Pilot Valve

The Pilot valve is a 3/2-way solenoid valve for neutral gases. It can be fitted directly to the pneumatic actuator using a hollow bolt. The part-turn actuator can thus be modified to form an electropneumatic unit. The pilot valve controls the compressed air to the part-turn actuator and automatically vents it on closing.

Due to the low power consumption, computer control is possible. The control function is closed when unpowered. The pilot valve is supplied as standard with manual back-up operation.

Electrical Position Indicator

The electrical position indicator is fitted to the part-turn actuator. As standard it is equipped with two proximity switches. Using threaded spindles the two inductive proximity sensors can be precisely adjusted continuously and independently. They are not subject to any wear.

Optical Position Indicator

The optical position indicator is the simplest form of position indication. This is provided by a red signal pin to be fitted to the part-turn actuator; this indicates the switch position.

Series 6E Electrical Part-turn Actuator

For more demanding switching requirements, an electrical part-turn actuator is recommended. The switching times are extremely short (approx. 1 sec / 90°). The powerful electric motor with planetary gear provides safety – burn-out or hot windings are avoided. The electrical part-turn actuator can be controlled with an interface on a computer (RS 232) or directly using a PLC.
