PTFE is an extremely versatile material & can be machined into almost any shape. Polyflon can produce PTFE machined parts to very tight tolerances (+/-0.05mm) with the aid of temperature controlled equipment. Annealing, or heat stabilizing, the PTFE stock material prior to machining can release stresses that can still reside within the material after first stage processing giving PTFE machined parts much better dimensional stability. The properties of the finished item can also be improved by part moulding & part machining giving consistent material density & reduced porosity.
PTFE machined parts are not the only components within our range. Polyflon can offer parts in PCTFE, PVDF, Acetal & other engineering plastics. Punched gaskets & other shapes are also a speciality.
Our own in-house tool & press facility allow us a high degree of control over component development through to finished piece. Punching materials include a wide range of fluoropolymer & Polyester films together with various grades of PTFE tapes.
