Fluoropolymer Welding Rod

Polyflon Technology extrudes a comprehensive range of welding rod materials in 3 standard diameters as shown below. Welding rod, produced from melt processible fluoropolymers, is predominantly used in the construction/fabrication of semiconductor wafer baskets, aggressive chemical baths/wet benches & custom made inert liquid enclosures.

Recommended hot gas welding temperatures
| Rod material | Heat gun nozzle temperature (°C) | Welding medium |
|---|---|---|
| FEP | 350-380 | Air |
| PFA | 400-420 | Air |
| PVDF | 360-400 | Air |
| ECTFE | 340-350 | Nitrogen ∗ |
| MFA | 400-420 | Air |
- ∗ If air is used, oxidation of the rod & mating material occurs.
- Note: Above temperatures are not heat gun settings but the temperatures required at the gun nozzle to ensure a successful weld.
