Series 1A Flexible Tube Connector

Series 1A compression fitting

The Series 1A connector is designed to be compatible with flexible tubes such as PTFE. As shown in the section image to the left a tapered connecting sleeve forms part of the body of the fitting, onto which the ID of the tube is pushed. As a result, the tube OD expands allowing the one-part, tapered ferrule to bite into the outer surface of the tube. Once the nut is finger tightened the fitting is rated 10bar at ambient temperature. PVDF connectors in the Series 1A version are for general lab use & more specifically, in gas analysis, environmental monitoring & water treatment equipment. PVDF connectors are also widely used in chemical dosing applications.

Series 1C Flexible Tube Connector

Series 1C compression fitting

The series 1C connector is designed for use with slightly more rigid tubing than with Series 1A, namely FEP or PFA. The bodies of 1A & 1C are exactly the same, the only difference being the gripping method. Unlike 1A, Series 1C grips the tube OD using a PEEK cutting ring, in front of which is a PTFE sealing ring. PFA connectors in the Series 1C version are used in high temperature & highly aggressive environments. In certain instances the amount of ‘extractables’ present in a material might be of concern, in which case high purity PFA compression fittings are the solution.

  • To suit metric tubing from 4×6 to 18×20 & imperial tubing from 1/4”x1/8” to 5/8”x3/4”.
  • BSP & NPT threads from 1/8” to 3/4”.
  • Metric threads from 10×1 to 24×1.5.
  • Materials: Series 1A in PP & PVDF only, Series 1C in PP, PVDF & PFA.
